A small group from Stewartry U3A (University of the Third Age) is carrying out research on the Borgue War Memorial to try and build a picture of the men who lost their lives during World War One and World War Two and who are commemorated on the War Memorial in front of The Borgue Hotel. Their aim is to produce a record which can be kept by the local community as part of its history.
Although they can get quite a bit of information from existing records, they are keen to discover more information from the local community. In particular they would be delighted if you have any information about the men: where they lived, what they did during their short lives, their families, photographs, any anecdotes about them: in fact anything you have or may know.
