The new addition to West Coast Sea Products fleet berthed in the town yesterday. Built in Whitby, by Parkol Marine Engineering, the “Alcedo” has been fishing since March, skippered by Jamie Clark and Scott Bremner. She is a little over 100 feet in length, and approximately 300 tons and is still by far the largest fishing vessel to have called here, but not the largest to have been owned locally. The barques John Tomkinson and Rory O’ More were larger as far as we know.
